ADVERTORIAL: This year's Southport Flower Show has star guests and live entertainment lined up for the whole family

Southport Flower Show is getting ready for a blooming brilliant return this August as well-known guests to action-packed displays and fun activities are lined up for all the family.

Gardeners' World presenter Adam Frost, former Strictly Come Dancing stars Janette Manrara and Alijaz Skorjanec and children's entertainer Justin Fletcher are among the special guests heading to Victoria Park as the event returns from its pandemic-induced break.

The four-day show, sponsored by Home Bargains, will take place from August 18-21, and visitors booking in advance can enjoy savings as well as free entry for children under the age of 16. Early bird tickets are priced at £23 until June 1, compared to the gate price of £27, and can currently be purchased online.

Throughout the event, gardening lovers will be able to explore Southport Flower Show's Grand Floral Marquee - home to a wide range of plants, flowers, trees, bonsai, cacti, vegetables and herbs. There's also an opportunity to get some on the spot advice from the people who grew the plants.

Stunning show gardens and floral displays are also set to be a fabulous focal point of the event, alongside amateur gardening exhibits and access to guidance from expert gardeners.

Plus live professional demonstrations will be taking place in the cookery theatre, with guest chefs including Great British Menu and Ready Steady Cook star Ellis Barrie and Hairy Biker Si King.

Elsewhere on site there'll be live performances including a thrilling motorcycle stunt show, entertaining dog displays and a chance to see birds of prey up close. Ukulele bands, choirs and country performers will be among those bringing a helping of live music to the line-up.

For young Southport Flower Show attendees, there's a chance to get creative thanks to arts and crafts workshops from the Imagine That! science and discovery centre.
