Angler catches giant 7-foot halibut, believed to be 90 years old

It's every fisherman's dream.

An English angler said he landed a 7-foot 28.5 stone halibut and ended up in the record books in the process.

45-year-old Paul Stevens caught this monster his fish while exploring the northern coast of Norway.

A halibut that grows to this size is expected to be between the ages of 70 and 90.

The fish were too big to be carried on board. Take a selfie with it.

Paul then hooked off a huge prey, roughly the same weight as a black bear, and threw it back into the freezing waters.

It took the fisherman a total of 3 days to recover after fighting the beast.

The halibut is believed to be the largest ever caught by British anglers, but is still over 100 pounds short of the world record catch of a staggering 513 pounds. I did.

The largest halibut ever caught was hoisted by German angler Marco Liebenow in 2013.

Paul said:

``It did three dives and pulled the boat about half a mile. It could easily take two hours. There is no way to weigh a fish of that size.

"There is a universal formula for measuring a large fish and calculating its weight, which I

"Later, I put it back. Fish of that size are breeding fish. The size is also about 70 to 90 years old.

"It was very difficult. It took three days for the shoulder to heal.”

The Atlantic halibut is found between Greenland and the Barents Sea as far south as the Bay of Biscay.

They average up to 15 feet in length and weigh up to 700 pounds. Please contact the news team by sending an email to
