Arsenal on transfer alert as Barcelona ‘tell flop Malcom he can leave for £55m’

BARCELONA are ready to sell Arsenal and Tottenham target Malcom for £55million, reports in Spain say.

The Brazilian's agent has already met Barca officials to discuss the Brazilian's future.

But the La Liga champions want a hefty profit on the £37m they paid Bordeaux for the 22-year-old last summer.

Marca claim the former whizkid, who has yet to win a full cap, wants to know which clubs are showing interest in him.

But the Spanish outlet say his representatives did not suggest to Barca he wanted to move.

Everton and PSG are among the other clubs keen on a wideman whose chances of a regular start at the Nou Camp have been further hit by Antoine Griezmann's £105m arrival.

And just yesterday Arsenal were said to want Malcom on a season's loan.

But it seems Barca would only offload the former Under-20 and U-23 international in a permanent deal - for at least £55m.

Gunners boss Unai Emery only has £45m to spend this summer but insists he is chasing "very big, very expensive" players.

SunSport also revealed Malcom's representatives were in London for talks with the Gunners last week but never came close to agreeing terms.

Malcom's weekly wages of £200,000 would be almost as big a problem as his transfer fee.

He could also be part of any Neymar sale back to Barca, as the Spaniards would hope PSG are open to a cash-plus-players deal for the 27-year-old.

But if Neymar did return to the Nou Camp with Malcom still there, it could force the younger player out anyway.

That's because Barca would have broken their limit for non-EU players.
