A bride was left stunned as she was forced to travel hundreds of miles for a Game of Thrones themed wedding on hit TV show Don't Tell The Bride.

Now on E4 rather than its original home of BBC Three, the wedding show has been on our screens for 13 years and has seen people tying the knot everywhere from aquariums to rollercoasters and everything in between, including an It’s The Knockout style obstacle course!

But it was a certain hit HBO and Sky Atlantic drama that provided the inspiration for the nuptials that aired on a repeat of the show on Saturday morning.

Wigan couple Evan and Zoe, like all other couples who appear on Don't Tell The Bride, were separated for three weeks, leaving Evan and his best man to plan a wedding that took them well away from home turf.

After visiting Hulne Abbey in Alnwick, Evan realised straight away it would be the perfect backdrop for his fantasy Game of Thrones wedding and it was revealed on the show that he paid £4,000 to have the ceremony there, with an additional £2,500 going on a tipi and catering for the banquet reception.

Bride Zoe was left completely in the dark while all of this was going on, and even seemed mystified when asked to try on a cloak at her dress fitting.

A coach load of guests made the four hour trip to Northumberland from the north west for the wedding as did Zoe and her bridemaids and the penny finally dropped when they walked into the ruins of Hulne Abbey to be greeted by a dragon - as you can see in the above video taken from E4.

While a million miles away from the intimate wedding Zoe would have chosen, she told Evan she couldn't fault what he'd done and she even got her own coronation.

The mother of the bride was left wiping away the tears as she took in the stunning surroundings of the Abbey and the bridesmaids, who were also big GoT fans, were very impressed.
