Case IH upgrades popular RB 344 round baler

Case IH has launched the revamped version of its popular RB 344 fixed-chamber round baler.

Available in two model variants – the “F” designated Rotor Feeder and “R” Rotor Cutter – the balers benefit from a number of upgrades and should sit comfortably behind an 80hp tractor.

The redesigned side shield is the most notable difference in the new model, beneath which plenty of mechanical changes have been made to improve productivity and keep maintenance costs low.

Maximising intake capacity, a series of closely spaced steel tines within the 2m pick-up channel the crop into the feeder and bale chamber, where new and improved drive chains have gained chromed pins and hardened plates to prolong their life.

Similarly, the bearings have also been upgraded with new seals to prevent dust contamination.

On the Rotor Feeder model, it is also possible to factory fit the Hydraulic Rotor Reverser. Using a free-run clutch, this allows the operator to remain in the cab and reverse the rotor to clear any blockages.

Rotor Cutter variants have 15 electrically selected knives ahead of the slat-chain chamber that forms a 1.2m-diameter bale.

Prices start at £32,192 and £35,213, respectively.
