Chelsea star Marcos Alonso's move to Barcelona agreed but postponed by as-yet-unregistered Jules Kunde

Marcos Alonso's move to Barcelona has been postponed as the Spaniard has yet to register Jules Kunde's new signing, reports suggest.

The Chelsea left-back is ready to sign his three-year deal with the La Liga side.

Alonso agreed personal terms with Barca four months ago, according toFabrizio Romano.

The Blues look set to throw around £6 million into the 31-year-old.

Alonso has not been part of his squad onThomas Tuchel's matchday for any of Chelsea's opening two games of the campaign. After Bruce's boss confirmed he was leaving.

But Romano insists his move won't formally take effect untilBarcelona registers a summer signature of £55 million.

Due to financial difficulties at the Camp Nou, Barça had to sell millions of pounds worth of assets to register new players.

Robert Lewandowski, Rafinha, Frank Kesy and Andreas Christensen registered for La Liga.

But Kounde is still waiting for the paperwork to pass.

According to the BBC, the French player will only be allowed to play for the club if Barça cut his wages.

This will allow Alonso to sign with the club.

Romano says the process "will take time", but there is no clear timeframe for what that would be.

Barça's time is starting to run out as it's been closed for two weeks.

Reports say the club wants to let right-back Sergino Dest go, while the club is desperate to part ways with Martin Braithwaite and Samuel Umtiti.

Elsewhere, the transfer story ofFrenkie de Jong continues to ring.

But if Manchester United or Chelsea were successful in signing the Dutchman, they would make room for Barcelona to sign Khunde and then sign Alonso.
