Dad of kids ‘stabbed to death by mom Liliana Carrillo’ may take legal action against CPS for ‘not protecting children’

THE father of three young siblings allegedly stabbed to death by their mom is "extremely angry" at child protective services and may take legal action, a family friend has revealed.

Liliana Carrillo, 30, was arrested on Saturday in Tulare County, California - around four hours north of where her three children, Joanna, Terry and Sierra, were found dead in Reseda.

The children's heartbroken grandmother had called cops after she discovered the youngsters - age three, two, and six months - dead inside an apartment complex, with Carrillo nowhere to be seen.

Grieving father Erik Denton told the Los Angeles Times he had sought custody of the children from his ex on March 1, whom he said had been acting mentally unstable, but says officials didn't act fast enough.

A family friend exclusively told The Sun: "He is extremely angry, I would be too, he reached out multiple times to them [children protective services] and said, 'It needs to be done, the kids need to be taken from her'.

"I know friends and family have advised him to take legal action, but I think it's too soon for him to really even try to think about doing anything.

"I've spoken to him and he is just in total shock. He had just seen his baby on Skype and it has been really, really hard.

"He's just trying to process things, he feels very lost right now and everyone is worried about him, it's scary."

He reportedly petitioned for a mental health evaluation of Carrillo, and requested a temporary emergency visitation order in Porterville on March 4 with orders drawn up at a hearing days later.

He said Carrillo was supposed to turn over the kids to him on Sunday, and another hearing in the case was scheduled for April 14.

Carrillo responded by filing for a temporary domestic violence restraining order against Erik on March 12 in Los Angeles Superior Court, records show.

Erik told the Times he tried to get local authorities to intervene, but "in LA they wouldn’t help. The LAPD would not get involved."

The Sun has reached out to Erik and children and family services in both Los Angeles and Tulare County, but did not receive a reply.

She said Erik flew from Washington, where he now resides, to California and attended a memorial for his murdered children, during which he read out a touching poem.

"I just can't understand how she was able to do what she did, I know she loves her babies," the friend said.

"To be able to do that she had to have disassociated herself because no one in their right might would commit such a heinous act.

"I hope she gets the death penalty, or life with no parole, and that she dies in prison."

She said the fact the grandmother found the babies dead is "horrifying," and it's something she'll "never forget."

"She didn't just slay one child, she went on to slay two more, thinking about doing that to children is very sickening," the friend said.

Asked if she knew details of Carrillo's mental state, she said she was only aware she was depressed and struggling.

"I don't think lockdown had anything to do with it, I think she was ill before," she said.

"I don't think she was getting the proper mental health care that she was supposed to be getting."

She added: "Erik was a fantastic father. They were constantly doing something, going places.

"They were always out together and he tried to give his kids the best childhood that they could have had.

"I'm just in disbelief, I feel shock, anger, sadness, confusion. I tried putting myself in her place, but there's no way I could ever do what she's done, it's unfathomable."

Investigators were unable to locate Carrillo for several hours after the babies was discovered and a man hunt was launched - with her allegedly fleeing the scene.

She also allegedly ditched her vehicle before carjacking another in the hours before her arrest.

Police have not yet formally identified Carrillo's children, though their names were shared by their grandfather, Tim Denton, in a Facebook post.

"This is my son," he wrote, linking to a GoFundMe page set up for him. "Yesterday though an unspeakable heinous act, his children are gone.

"Please keep him in your prayers and hold your family close tonight. I love you Erik. Rest in peace darlings; Joanna, Terry and Sierra."

It has also since emerged Carrillo ran what she called a "Blog for Good" on Instagram in which she would write and share inspirational messages and confessions about herself, reports DailyMail.com.

And in some of posts she went after the parents on the show Teen Mom, slamming them as bad mothers.

In a post dated May 10, 2013, she alleged the stars "physically and emotionally abuse their partners and then victimize themselves" and branded it "crap".

"They are involved in heavy drugs, cannot escape them, and then cry about how they can't access their child... I mean really?," she wrote.

"All of these mothers that have been presented have in my opinion, and forgive me if this offends anyone but it is my opinion and I hold strongly to it, just idiot after idiot. I do not feel pity for them."

She added: "There's no denying that there are a few mothers in the show who progress from their situations and grow from their troubles but there are others that I am shocked as to how or why they still have custody of their child."

Elsewhere in the post, she confessed "I am not perfect" and spoke about her own "unhealthy relationships" in which she would "lose control".
