Davina McCall’s transformational ITV show This Time Next Year axed after three series

DAVINA McCall’s transformational ITV show This Time Next Year has been axed after three series, The Sun can reveal.

The show — which sees former Big Brother host Davina, 52, challenge people to make a major turnaround in their life in just 12 months — will not be returning in 2020.

It comes just a week after The Sun revealed that Masked Singer star Davina’s Channel 4 series The 100K Drop had been axed less than two years after the prize money was lowered by £900,000. A source said: “ITV decided a little while ago that This Time Next Year would not be returning.

“Frankly there are only so many people you can find that want to change their lives so drastically and they feel they’ve taken the show as far as they can.

“Normally it would be in production by now but it won’t be coming back again.”

This Time Next Year left viewers in tears with its inspirational stories.

The Sun told how Jayne Hardman had lost her nose to an autoimmune disease triggered by a dog attack vowed to get her confidence back.

But after 12 months, the show revealed how she had a brand new prosthetic nose and appeared so much happier.

Another shock transformation was Nichole Parkes’s weight loss — in just one year the Nottingham mum lost seven stone.

Davina — who also presents the ITV series Long Lost Family with Nicky Campbell — is currently starring in the channel’s glitzy Saturday night show The Masked Singer.

The show — which also features Jonathan Ross, Rita Ora and Ken Cheong alongside her — has been trouncing its telly rivals including BBC’s The Greatest Dancer in the ratings.

An ITV spokesman said: “After three brilliant series of This Time Next Year — where over 100 people successfully pledged a resolution to help their lives in some way - we have decided to rest the show.

“We’d like to thank Davina, the brilliant production team and all of the show’s fantastic contributors for all of their hard work and for making the series such compelling viewing.”
