THE Deliveroo app has crashed, and is charging users multiple times for the same order.
Twitter lit up at around 8pm with users claiming to have been charged for orders that were never received by the restaurant, or else having multiple delivery drivers appear all with the same meal.
One user claimed to have been charged seven times for the same order, which another said he was charged twice, and was cut off when he called to cancel the second.
A message on the app suggests the system was receiving an unusually high number of orders, and delivery times may be longer than normal.
At around 8pm Deliveroo posted that they were "aware of some difficulties which may be affecting orders at the moment.
"Please bear with us as we work on getting things back to normal as soon as possible."
The help team were requesting those overcharged to send their account details to them in a direct message.
One Twitter user said it was "shocking" that the app was still taking orders and charging cards despite the system failures.
"My order has gone through 4 times and not even getting the option to call to cancel?" tweeted one user.
Another said she had been charged three times, but the restaurant hadn't received her order.
The SunOnline have contacted Deliveroo for comment.
One Twitter user saw the funny side of the situation, tweeting: "When you order @Deliveroo and half an hour later there's 3 delivery drivers outside with your order (3 different times).
