Des Lynam is complicit in 'cheesy' decision to cancel long-running BBC show amid fan backlash

BBC boss seems to have scored an own goal, dropping the classified football result ofRadio 5 Live.

The broadcaster said it would drop the long-running feature in favor of shortening Sports Report and adding coverage of the 5:30 pm Premier League match.

He further added, "TheBBC sports website will offer a comprehensive goal service, while BBC One will continue to provide final scores."

The results of the British major leagues have been read out on sports reports at 5:00 pm since the early 1950s.
