Dortmund sign former Blackburn striker Anthony Modeste to replace Sebastian Haller after testicular cancer diagnosis

Borussia Dortmund have announced the signing of forward Anthony Modesto.

Modeste will join after agreeing to his one-year deal with theBlack and Yellows.

This 34-year-old player has been called up as an emergency replacement for Sebastian Haller, who was diagnosed with testicular cancer this summer.

Haller joined the club from Ajax for his £27 million transfer fee.

But head coach Steffen Baumgart said Modesto has scored 20 goals in 32 games and is "unwell" after losing the team's top scorer last season.
