This Morning presenter Eamonn Holmes has displayed a worrying eyeball picture on Instagram.

The ITV daytime favourite, 60, took to social media to show his blood-shot eyeball and asked for advice.

Eamonn wrote on Instagram: "This appeared today ..... should I be worried?"

This prompted a response from TV presenter Lizzie Cundy, who advised him on a measure to take.

Lizzie wrote: "Get some chloramphenicol drops ASAP .. #nurse #lizzie"

Another fan commented: "It's a burst vessel I get it often it can happen for any reason for example a cough or sneeze, but go to doctor if your worried it usually clears in a couple of days."

The sentiment was reflected by another follower's response: "Speak to doctor. But I would have thought your ok. Iv had it before."

The usually quick-witted Eamonn went on to post a portrait illustrated by artist Colin Davidson.

Eamonn captioned the image: "For the Record ....As my friend, the artist Colin Davidson illustrates, this is the way my eye normally looks."

The Irish TV presenter recently hit headlines for his support of fellow This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield when he came out as gay.

Eamon went on to post on Instagram a photo from the show where the pair embraced.

He wrote: "Shoulder to shoulder .... No one should feel pain , embarrassment or intimidation over their Sexual orientation. A new chapter awaits you Phillip."

Eamonn appeared alongside wife and co-host Ruth Langsford to support Phillip as he discussed his sexuality.

However, his choice of joke following the interview was met with a mixed reception.

Eamon wrote at the time: "This is a man who was in pain, who today confided in Ruth and I and who knows we stand in support of him, his family and his sexuality...

"Also unlike some, he appreciated a laugh to break the tension. @Schofe hoping you find happiness."
