Welcome to your latest Everton transfer news and rumours live blog with the Liverpool ECHO.

Everton have reportedly received an £8m bid for midfielder James McCarthy. The Republic of Ireland international has only one year left on his contract at Goodison and made just one Premier League appearance since suffering a broken leg against West Brom in January 2018.

Meanwhile Juventus' failure to offload fellow strikers Mario Mandzukic and Gonzalo Higuain could aid Everton's bid to land Moise Kean. With no bids forthcoming for their two veteran strikers, the Bianconeri are said to be ready to sell the 19-year-old, who scored six Serie A goals in just 13 matches for Juventus last season.

Everton are being linked with a move for Real Sociedad defender Diego Llorente. The 25-year-old joined Sociedad from Real Madrid two years ago and made 21 league appearances for them last season as they finished ninth in La Liga. Sociedad are reportedly aware of interest in the player and are said to be relaxed to a supposed €50m release clause attached to his contract.

Diego Llorente latest

Diego Llorente made 21 appearances in the league for Real Sociedad last season - despite being plagued by injury - and helped his club finish ninth in La Liga.

The defender, who moved from Real Madrid in 2017, has been linked with a move away from Spain in the summer transfer window, amidst interest from Everton in the Premier League.

According to Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo via InsideFutbol, Sociedad remain calm over the future of Llorente, despite the reported interest from other clubs such as the Blues.

McCarthy 'bid received'

Crystal Palace have made an £8m bid for Everton midfielder James McCarthy, according to Sky Sports News.

The midfielder, who has been with the Blues since 2013, has one year left on his contract.

He has made just one Premier League appearance since suffering a broken leg against West Brom in January 2018.

The media outlet also report “the Baggies were interested in taking McCarthy on loan in January but no deal materialised for the 28-year-old”.
