Temperatures will start rising next Monday and continue to rise for the rest of the week.

Uncertainty remains about how high mercury will rise, but there are strong indications that it will be above average temperatures for most places.

Clear and dry weather will continue for the rest of August.

Sun seekers can expect light breezes and plenty of warmth.

Japan Meteorological Agency spokesperson Nicola Maxey told The Sun Online: Towards the end of summer, the season will be mild, calm and warm. 

Early rains clearing in the south-east today, with most of England and Wales partly clear skies later in the day.

The day will be mostly clear, but Scotland and Northern Irelandwill see showers. 

Nicola Maxey, a spokesperson for the Japan Meteorological Agency, told The Sun Online that a strange thunderstorm is possible, but it is a small risk.

She said: "In the last few days nothing compared to what we saw." 

Heavy showers on Saturday. Expect drenching the northwest, while the south will remain mostly dry with odd showers.

Temperatures will remain normal for this time of year. 

Sunday will be mostly dry, but heavy rains are possible in the western part of the country afterwards. 

Clouds and rain should come from the west across the UK on Sunday and Monday, with increasing humidity.

Next week the UK will continue to feel the signs of winter, with heavy rains that can be partly heavy.
