ITV bosses have spoken with Ferne McCann after a series of leaked voice notes which sounded like her appearing to call Sam Faiers a “fat c**t” and “a f***ing narcissist”.
The former Towie star has had her own show on ITVBE, Ferne McCann: First Time Mum, since 2017.
Ferne has yet to break her silence over the messages which are being posted to a public Instagram account which has over 15,000 followers.
The leaked audio notes have caused outrage, with many turning on Ferne for what she has appeared to have said.
Insiders said ITV were concerned about the saga and reached out to see Ferne’s side of the story.
A source said: “It isn’t just Towie fans that are talking about the audio notes – but the team at ITV who put Ferne’s show on the box.
“They have spoken to her about the messages and the backlash which has followed in its wake.
“Those involved will be keeping an eye on what else comes out and they will be keeping in touch with Ferne.”
The voice notes that have been circulating on social media have left Sam and Ferne embroiled in a fresh feud, with claims that there are “37 voice notes still to be released.”
The first audio note, released over the weekend, which mocked Sam’s weight was said to have been sent just days after Sam had given birth to her second child in May.
A second which has a woman who appears to be Ferne can be heading saying: “She is just a narcissistic b***h.
“It’s just so s**t on people that have worked hard, because she’s got a big following. It’s just ridiculous — it’s out of order.”
Last night a third audio note was released on the anonymous Instagram page.
The recording is thought to be five years old, sent close to the time Sam’s sister Billie gave birth to her second child – a baby boy.
In it a woman who appears to be Ferne is heard talking about how she feels about Billie naming her son Arthur – which is the same moniker as her acid-attack ex-boyfriend Arthur Collins.
In the recording the person who sounds like Ferne is heard saying that they think the decision was odd and would have been like Ferne calling a child she had Greg – the name of Billie’s husband.
The voice on the recording says: “It feels so weird saying 'Arthur', I can't believe it.
“It's like me having a little boy and calling him Greg. Anyway, whatever.”
