FIFA 20 is officially the most-played game in the history of EA SPORTS' FIFA gaming franchise, so there's plenty of excitement about the next instalment in the gaming franchise, FIFA 21, particularly with the release of next-gen consoles later this year.

So, when will FIFA 21 be released for Xbox, PlayStation, PC and next-gen consoles? Well, EA have already confirmed that FIFA 21 has an official UK and worldwide release date of October 9, 2020, as revealed at the EA Play event.

But some editions will allow you to play FIFA 21 slightly earlier than this. The earliest you'll be able to play FIFA 21 is though EA Access (PS4, Xbox One) and Origin Access (PC), with Play First Trials starting start on October 1, 2020.

If you pre-order the FIFA 21 Ultimate Edition or Champions Edition on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC you’ll be able to play from October 6, 2020, with the Standard Edition allowing gamers to play from the game's official UK and worldwide release date of October 9, 2020.

It has also been confirmed that FIFA 21 will be playable on the next-generation edition of gaming consoles, the Playstation 5 and the Xbox One Series X, but no release date has been confirmed for these consoles yet.

As such, EA have confirmed that when you purchase FIFA 21 on Xbox, PS4 or PC, you'll have access to something called Dual Entitlement, which will enable you to upgrade your copy of FIFA 21 on PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5, or from Xbox One to Xbox Series X, at no extra cost.

The Dual Entitlement offer will let you upgrade your copy of the game at no extra cost up until the release of FIFA 22.

All progress you make or content you acquire within FIFA 21 Ultimate Team (including players, items, coins, FIFA Points, match record, and leaderboard placement), as well as all progression in VOLTA FOOTBALL will transfer from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5 and back, or Xbox One to Xbox Series X and back.

Ahead of EA PLAY, EA themselves have confirmed a release schedule for FIFA 21, in regards to information about gameplay and popular game modes.

In a tweet on the official EA SPORTS FIFA Twitter account, the company posted a release schedule for when fans can expect information about FIFA 21 in regards to gameplay, Career Mode, Volta Football, Pro Clubs and FIFA 21 Ultimate Team.

The graphic that they posted reveals that this information regarding FIFA 21 and some of the key aspects of the new game will be revealed in August, likely following the same order on the graphic.

So expect to see information for FIFA 21's gameplay, Career Mode, Volta Football, Pro Clubs and FIFA 21 Ultimate Team in that order around August time, a two months before the game is officially due for release.
