Manchester United's new signing Jadon Sancho has been given the seal of approval by Match of the Day host Gary Lineker after he admitted he was 'very excited' to watch him.

Sancho finally completed a £73m move from Borussia Dortmund on Friday, with United formally announcing the deal on Friday. Reds fans were delighted to see a deal done nice and early in the transfer window having waited all of last summer for a deal that never materialised.

But after a Euro 2020 tournament in which Sancho didn't feature as much as he'd have liked to, he comes to England with a point to prove and Lineker has admitted that he can't wait to see the 21-year-old winger in action.

In a tweet sent out by the former England and Tottenham striker, Lineker said; "Very excited to watch this incredibly talented young man play in the Premier League."

Sancho spent four years in the Bundesliga with Dortmund after signing from Man City in 2017 and went on to score 50 goals and register 64 assists in 137 appearances for the club. At just 21-years-old, Sancho is expected to return to the Premier League and make a big difference to United who finished as runners-up in the Premier League and Europa League last season.

Lineker was part of the BBC punditry team at Euro 2020 that watched Sancho perform brilliantly in the 4-0 quarter-final win over Ukraine, the only game that he started in the tournament.

He was then brought on in the final with one minute left of extra-time to take a penalty in the shootout, but missed as Italy went on to be crowned European champions.

Sancho is currently on holiday but is expected to link up with his new teammates at club level in the next couple of weeks, before potentially making his debut against rivals Leeds United at Old Trafford on August 14th.
