"I will never go back to Cornwall after being fined for a false parking ticket."

Man fined for 'false' parking has vowed never to return to Cornwall.

Michael Davies claims that Initials His Parking falsely accused him of not paying for a visit to the area.

Mr. Davis parked in Marazion while visiting the tourist site St. Michaels his mount.

He stayed for about four hours, returned to the car and in cash at the machine he paid £5.

Taking his cash at the exit parking lot, he continued his journey.

However, according to CornwallLive, he was later reported to have received a letter from Initial Parking, which operates the parking lot, informing him that he had failed to pay for his stay.

The letter stated that he paid £1 using a contactless card, was allowed to stay for one hour, and remained on site for an additional two hours and 28 minutes.

Mr Davis of Crediton, Devon, was fined but said the fine was void because he paid in cash.

Initial parking shows that his one hour of parking was paid by card for a car matching his registration number.

However, he maintains that he paid £5 in cash and that there must have been a mistake which led him to appeal the fine.

Davies, who argues that fines are wrong, said: "Outrageous. Went to Marazion with a neighbor as part of a break to Cornwall after his father died.

" Parked and went to the castle and on return A neighbor put money in. this machine. He got the ticket and the machine said it was approved.

"When I got back to Crediton, I got a letter saying I was fined. I feel like there is no form of redress.

"They make a decision, but , you can't talk to anyone and feel like you're being harassed and have no redress.

"No one to negotiate with. I don't want to pay this because it's horrible and unfair."

Initial Parking dismissed his appeal. , he made a payment of £10 without prejudice on legal advice.

This was overruled and his fine passed to recovery company i-Debt.

The total fine has now been raised to £170, which would cost him £235 if taken to court.

Mr. Davis, who is over 70, said the fine was "ridiculous" and said the stress of being threatened in court was making his health worse.

He added: “I recently had a brain injury and stroke.
