Flies are unwanted housemates and can make your home experience undesirable.
That's why her cleaning expert, Azure MacCannell, showed us an affordable home product that can help scare away flies around your trash can.

The original formula contained pine oil, but in recent years the new formula does not.
MacCannell chooses the original formula when purchasing Pine-Sol. This is because pine oil in pine oil kills flies and keeps flies from coming back.
The pine sol method works because flies cannot tolerate the smell of pine resin.
To achieve MacCannell's hack, pour her original Pine-Sol onto a sanitary napkin and stick it to the inside of a trash can lid.
This combination should keep flies at bay.
You can also dilute and spray Pine-Sol in her bottle and spray it on the affected areas of your home.
"I do this and it works. It keeps the flies away. I don't soak the napkins, but spraying trash around the lid does the trick," she said in one. shared by
"I only spray from her bottle every few days, but I don't have any," another endorsed the spray method.

"Pour a lot of table salt into the trash can as well," wrote one.
"When you spray windows, just spray the can with insecticide," said another.
