"I'm sick of my name being mispronounced - strangers even add letters"

Having a unique name certainly has its benefits, but as anyone with a less common name will tell you, myself included, it's hard to tell people how to pronounce it. It's really a nightmare to try to teach. If you have an odd nickname or a moniker that is only slightly spelled differently, then you probably understand the pain of having to constantly amend your teachers, new co-workers, and companies you have to call.

And one woman shared her frustrations in aviral video. In it she shares some of the ways her own name has been slaughtered by people who don't know how to pronounce her.

Emeline Rose posted a video of her on her TikTok account @emeline_rose_, which sounds pretty close to the real thing. I said that there are some pronunciations that are not. She shouldn't stray too far - and even add an extra letter that isn't there.

That woman said the "most common" mispronunciation she faces is started saying it was "Emmalin". She said this wasn't ``absolutely'' correct, but it wasn't a million miles away.

Next was "Emily." Emeline said "near" again, but without the "n" sound at the end of her name. She also responded to people calling her "Emma Lean" by simply saying "No."

She says some people don't get it right (

But the worst mispronunciation was, as she put it, "Evelyn": "Sorry I don't have a 'v' in my name! ''

In her video caption, Emmeline revealed the actual pronunciation of her own name. "Emma pronounce her line."

Many of the commenters on the video consisted of people who understood Emmeline's frustration.

One said: ``My name is Katyn. . It was too much.

Another user added: "I call my name Kylie and she doesn't even have an 'A' and they call me Kaley. It's frustrating."

And her third poster I wrote:
