I was furious after a silly DPD driver crashed into a garden light. captured everything on video

Shocking footage shows a DPD driver destroying a couple's 100-pound garden light set with a van.

Jon and Amy Meah of Newport filmed a video of the failure on August 17th.

This footage shows the delivery driver speeding into the couple's driveway and trying to pull over to the pristine front lawn.

In doing so, he crashed a large van into the upright lights in the middle of the forecourt, knocking them over and damaging them beyond repair.

The lights turned gold at an angle of nearly 45 degrees, angering the homeowners.

Amy, 34, who runs a hair salon in her home, was caught on camera having a heated conversation with a driver.

He apologized saying "I'm sorry" when he tried to put the light fixture back on the ground and put it upright, but it didn't work.

After the smash, one of his lights was left on the floor.

The couple alleges that despite his apology, the driver found the ordeal amusing and blamed him for never driving a van before.

} John, 38, a project manager, says: When he gets the video, he finds out the guy found it funny.

``It was about £50 each, but the garden cost £5,000. That included cementing those lights. You have to buy it and pay someone to dig it out and cement it in place.”

He accused the driver of being passive and aggressive and drove the car to The van driver, who doesn't have one, told Amy he asked her not to complain for fear of losing her job with DPD.

Two said they were told they would be contacted soon by DPD's senior management, but have yet to hear back.

The DPD statement stated: }

"The local depot has conducted a full investigation and has already contacted the customer to repair the damage and repair it."
