Jeremy Clarkson reveals what he really thinks of daughter Emily’s new husband Alex months after marriage

TV STAR Jeremy Clarkson, 62, has shared his thoughts on daughter Emily’s new husband, Alex Andrew, after their May wedding.

The Top Gear star’s 27-year-old daughter married in a very romantic countryside ceremony at none other than Diddly Squat Farm – which is famously owned by Jeremy.

Emily, who works as a writer, said Alex had made her “the happiest girl in the whole wide world” when they got engaged in 2020.

Now, Jeremy has aired his views on Emily’s Irish beau Alex as he exclusively told The Sun: “I love them both, so the whole thing has been a joy.

“I mentioned before how wonderful it is when your daughter marries someone you actually like. I probably would be a nightmare if I didn’t like him.”

Emily wowed in a halterneck wedding dress with beaded detail and capped sleeves for her big day.

The Sun coloumnist's daughter was showered with messages from delighted friends and fans following her big reveal after tying the knot with city worker Alex from Dublin.

The countryside at Jeremy’s famous farm was doused in sunshine for the wedding, and viewers will be able to see more of Diddly Squat as the TV star’s hit show returns for season two.

The show follows The Grand Tour host as he took over the day-to-day running of his 1000 acre farm in the Cotswolds — which he’s owned since 2008.

Fans loved watching him learn to look after livestock, grow crops, and open his own farm shop.

Jeremy continued to tell The Sun that one of his kids gets “stuck in” too, as he shared that his 25-year-old son Finlo can make a “brilliant chilli jam.”

He added: “Lisa has been incredible with everything she has done at the farm shop. She’s turned the Diddly Squat farm into a real success, much to the joy of our many customers and the dismay of only one or two neighbours.”

Jeremy admits there are “more issues” to be dealt with in season two of the hit show, and we may not have long to wait for the return on Amazon Prime Video, as filming wrapped in August.

The TV star also opened up on his popular Hawkstone Lager which he admits is “hard to make but great to drink.

“It’s made naturally with my spring barley and brewed the authentic way - lagered for six weeks with no chemicals or nasty stuff,” he began, adding: “I like to enjoy one after a hard day’s farming with Kaleb – there’s nothing nicer than a cold pint of Hawkstone to reward ourselves with.”

Jeremy, who has just launched a new vodka too, has been running Hawkstone Sessions at his brewery, with acts such as Jack Savoretti and JP Cooper performing at the events.

The dad-of-three shared: “They’ve been fantastic, but then again so has the crowd. To see 2,500 Hawstonians loving the music and celebrating the hard work of all the farmers who’ve made the cider, lager and vodka they were drinking was great to see.

“I love farming and so making a lager from our own spring barley is really satisfying - even more so when people seem to really enjoy something made the right way.”
