Airline and tour operator Jet2 is putting on extra flights to the Canaries and Turkey amid 'phenomenal' demand for last-minute trips to the sun.

More than 7,000 additional seats are going on sale with further capacity to Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Dalaman in Turkey.

The new services mean Jet2 is offering more than 190 weekly services to the Canary Islands in October from across its 10 UK bases, on top of an unrivalled choice of weekly flights to Turkey.

The additional capacity announced this week is as follows:

Following the easing of travel restrictions for customers travelling from England and Northern Ireland, customers have been flocking to book holidays, with the Canary Islands and Turkey proving to be amongst the most popular destinations.

The full programme to the Canary Islands and Dalaman from Jet2.com and Jet2holidays in October from across all 10 UK bases is as follows:

  • Belfast International – up to four weekly services to Lanzarote, weekly services to Fuerteventura, up to two weekly services to Gran Canaria, up to five weekly services to Tenerife and weekly services to Dalaman.
  • Birmingham – up to seven weekly services to Lanzarote, up to three weekly services to Fuerteventura, up to three weekly services to Gran Canaria, up to 14 weekly services to Tenerife and up to six weekly services to Dalaman.
  • Bristol – up to two weekly services to Lanzarote, up to two weekly services to Fuerteventura, up to two weekly services to Gran Canaria, up to four weekly services to Tenerife and up to two weekly services to Dalaman.
  • East Midlands – up to six weekly services to Lanzarote, up to three weekly services to Fuerteventura, up to three weekly services to Gran Canaria, up to eight weekly services to Tenerife and up to three weekly services to Dalaman.
  • Edinburgh – up to four weekly services to Lanzarote, up to two weekly services to Fuerteventura, up to two weekly services to Gran Canaria, up to six weekly services to Tenerife and up to two weekly services to Dalaman.
  • Glasgow – up to four weekly services to Lanzarote, weekly services to Fuerteventura, up to three weekly services to Gran Canaria, up to six weekly services to Tenerife and up to four weekly services to Dalaman.
  • Leeds Bradford - up to six weekly services to Lanzarote, up to three weekly services to Fuerteventura, up to three weekly services to Gran Canaria, up to nine weekly services to Tenerife and up to five weekly services to Dalaman.
  • London Stansted - up to seven weekly services to Lanzarote, up to four weekly services to Fuerteventura, up to five weekly services to Gran Canaria, up to 13 weekly services to Tenerife and up to six weekly services to Dalaman.
  • Manchester – up to seven weekly services to Lanzarote, up to five weekly services to Fuerteventura, up to seven weekly services to Gran Canaria, up to 18 weekly services to Tenerife and up to ten weekly services to Dalaman.
  • Newcastle – up to four weekly services to Lanzarote, up to two weekly services to Fuerteventura, up to two weekly services to Gran Canaria, up to seven weekly services to Tenerife and up to five weekly services to Dalaman.
