JO Whiley thinks Zoe Ball will do an amazing job when she takes over from Chris Evans on BBC Radio 2.

The Sun exclusively revealed Zoe was taking over the Breakfast Show after Chris made a triumphant return to Virgin Radio last month.

Jo and Zoe have been pals for years and in an exclusive interview with The Sun Online, Jo, 53, admitted she thought Zoe was the perfect choice.

She explained: “Zoe will be amazing!

“Zoe and I have been friends for a long time and I think it’s great we’ve got our first female full-time host of the show!”

Jo’s career in radio has spanned over two decades and she’s still as passionate now as when she first started.

She added: “No matter what age you are you can still enjoy music!

“I feel more passionate than ever as I get older. I will always love seeing a great band live and hearing a brilliant new song.

“I think there’s a lot to be excited for I music right now.

“In my opinion, radio is going through a great time at the moment and there are some excellent broadcasters who people are going to love for a long time in the way they loved John Peel and Terry Wogan.

“Greg [James] is brilliant and I’m loving him on the Radio 1 breakfast show. I think Sara Cox is exceedingly witty and funny and I have a bit of an obsession with Jeremy Vine.
