The best laid schemes o' mice an' men might have included a wee night oot wi' the missus this Burns Night... but a wee beastie of a virus has put paid to that, so for 2021, it's a Burns Night in for all of Scotland.
However, it's not the end of the world, as M&S has quite the spread for the Burns connoisseur, with everything from haggis to a wee dram - and even a pizza topped with neeps and tatties.
And, for that long lost pal you might have once shared a nip with, you can now send them a Burns Night Treat Box, delivered to their doorstep, to show that you're thinking of them through the Scotch mist.
The Treat Box contains a lovely array of Scottish fare, including Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, oatcakes, all butter Scottish shortbread assortment, single malt whisky truffles, apple and fig chutney, and sultana cake, for some real wintery indulgence by the fire.
At just £30 it's a delightful gift for a Burns lover - order it here for delivery in time for Burns Night on January 25.
Meanwhile in store at M&S Food Halls across Scotland, there's a considerable range of Burns Supper options to make this coming Monday a little bit special.
Macsween of Edinburgh supplies the haggis - both traditional and vegetarian - having worked with M&S since 2012.
An M&S exclusive recipe by Macsween, this flavoursome Haggis contains a generously spiced mix of Pork Offal, Nutty Oatmeal and Onions. It comes in three sizes - regular £3.50, 454g, large £5.00, 908g, and extra large £6.00, 1.36kg.
The M&S Provender Haggis meanwhile is a traditional Lamb and Beef recipe which contains no artificial additives and is also safe for pregnant women to eat - £6.75 for 908g
The veggie haggis is a tasty mix of healthy fresh vegetables, pulses, oatmeal, seeds and spices, and is £3.50 for 454g.
Sides include neeps, tatties, carrots and parsnips and all are available for only 65p each.
For a cheesy twist, you could dig into a Haggis Pizza for £4.25, topped with haggis, neeps and tatties as well as creamy bechamel sauce and mozzarella cheese.
Of course, no Burns Supper is complete without a toast or two, and you'll need a whisky to keep your glass warm throughout dinner - M&S's award-winning Kenmore whisky is £23 for 70cl.
Finally, something sweet for the end of your meal, the Stag Tin Shortbread, £5, is from Edinburgh based Burton’s Biscuits and has that perfect melt-in-your-mouth appeal you'd expect from true Scottish shortbread.
There is no such uncertainty as a sure thing - and in 2021 the only sure thing we have is some nice food, and a great Scottish heritage.
