Malik Tillman primed for Celtic move as Parkhead scouts said 'blind sign him' before Rangers move

Former Hertha Berlin assistant manager Mark Fotheringham recommended Malik Tillman to Celtic before joining Rangers.

The former Parkhead youngster revealed he had been talking to players, but Hoops reportedly said during a scouting trip last season that instead Hamburg midfielder Philippe Vilbia had his eyes on him.. Last month he joined the team on loan for one season and got off to a strong start at Govan. He scored a crucial goal to secure the club's place in his league playoff round of the Champions League in a victory over Union Sanjiroise.

However, Fotheringham told European scouts at Celticthat he was one of the players to consider Tillman while still at Bayern Munich. Things may have changed a lot since then. The 20-year-old has already proven himself to be a key recruit for Geo Fan Bronckhalls, but former Hoops player Fotheringham believes he will finish his turn at his former club as well.

He told the Scottish Sun: I wish he was at Celtic. I know their European scout and I ran into him last year at the Greiser Hult match. I told him all about Tillman. I actually said, 'Mate, sign him blind. Trust me, he's a great player for Celtic. He was asking me about another player named Bilbiya:

"Now he's also a great talent and actually joined Hamburg a few months ago on a free transfer. After two seasons. I'm sure he'll go to Bayern or Red Bull Leipzig, anyway, I don't know what happened after my conversation.Whether he passed my comments on to the management of the top team, or whether he made the decision himself. Now

``He actually said, 'Yeah, we like him.' But I'm disappointed that nothing happened. seems to have been more interested in Bilvia.Well, he's a quality too.But Tillman believed he missed a big opportunity."
