Four Manchester City players could face each other today as Brazil play Argentina in a friendly later.

Gabriel Jesus and Ederson are among the Brazil squad, while Nicolas Otamendi and Sergio Aguero are in the frame to feature for Argentina.

Discussing the fixture, striker Jesus told Sky Sports: “I talked to Otamendi, I was joking with him - I said if he bumped me, I would give it back! When we are together in the club, we all swim in the same direction. Now I defend my country, and they [defend] their own country. Let them do their best, but there is rivalry.”

In other international fixtures, midfielder Rodri could play for Spain at home to Malta. Bernardo Silva scored for Portugal last night against Lithuania, and John Stones played the full 90 minutes for England against Montenegro.

Yaya Toure predicts Guardiola reaction over Sterling exclusion

Yaya Toure thinks Pep Guardiola could be disappointed with Gareth Southgate for the England manager’s handling of Raheem Sterling.

The Manchester City forward has been left out of England’s game with Montenegro on Thursday evening after a private altercation with Liverpool defender Joe Gomez at St. George’s Park.

Southgate’s decision to exclude Sterling was questioned despite his justification for it and Toure, who had several run-ins with Guardiola during their time together at Barcelona and City, believes too much has been made of it.

City’s former midfielder picked out the passion that Sterling showed as the character trait of a winner and suggested that there was no need for the Three Lions boss to get involved.

What Jesus told Otamendi ahead of Brazil's clash with Argentina

Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus has joked that he isn’t afraid to hit back at Nicolas Otamendi during tomorrow’s international fixture between Argentina and Brazil.

The South American rivals face each other with City players on both sides of the fence. Ederson is unavailable for Brazil but both Jesus and Fernandinho could feature.

On the other hand, Argentina have both Sergio Aguero and Otamendi ready for selection.

Jesus joked that he wouldn’t be afraid to give some punishment back to his teammate during tomorrow’s game.

“I talked to Otamendi, I was joking with him - I said if he bumped me, I would give it back!” he said.

Neuer asked about Guardiola return rumour

Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer refused to comment on rumours linking Pep Guardiola with a return to the club.

The Bavaria outfit is currently without a head coach following the departure of Niko Kovac and reports this week said Guardiola is on the Bundesliga champions’ radar.

Speaking ahead of Germany’s upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against Belarus and Northern Ireland, Neuer said:

“Of course, I can’t comment on the rumours.

“We are now here with the national team, I hear [about Guardiola] for the first time. You will see what happens and how those responsible decide.”
