Man dies in house 'explosion' as hero injured trying to save him

A man in his 50s died after an 'explosion' destroyed his home and injured a passerby who tried to help him.

The man was found dead after police were called to the facility following a report of the explosion. Lincolnshire Police said the home was "100 percent damaged".

Paramedics attempted to save the man with the help of civilians, but he was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident occurred early Sunday morning at a property on Farrow Road in Spalding.

Lincolnshire Police said they had notified the man's next of kin.

Police said in a statement: “The cause of thefire is under investigation and we are working with an open mind as experts from the Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service conduct an investigation today.
