Maura Higgins and Curtis Pritchard have just been announced as the red carpet hosts for the National Television Awards next week.

The Irish stunner, 29, is set to host the social media side of the National Television Awards with her dancer boyfriend, 23 - a role that was previously filled by former Love Island winners Jack Fincham and Dani Dyrer.

The pair - who met on the ITV dating show in 2019 - have been together ever since, but speculation of their 'fake relationship' has followed them for a number of months now.

This scenario bear immense similarity to previous hosts Jack,27, and Dani,22, who faced serious criticism in the lead up to the NTA's.

The former Love Island stars appeared on This Morning with Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby to speak about the huge presenting roles, but Maura was left fuming after Curtis accidentally let a huge secret spill.

As they were discussing the exciting milestone in both their careers and relationship, Holly asked if they had their very important outfits sorted for the big night.

The Love Island bombshell replied: "I don't have it yet, I'm hoping when I get it that it fits okay and everything. I'm keeping it very late."

Curtis then eagerly chipped in, admitting that his girlfriend sent him a picture of the fancy frock, and requested that he opt for a suit of the same colour.

"She sent me a picture and said Curtis, can you get me a suit that matches this?"

To which Maura snarled: "We have to be matching."

Curtis let the cat out of the bag, much to Maura's disdain

Attempting to cut the tension, Phil went on to ask the professional dancer what colour suit he was thinking of wearing to which Curtis replied "greyish".

Maura quickly stared up into her boyfriends face with an incredibly stern look on her face after realising that he had spoiled the mystery and excitement of their National Television Awards debut.

Grasping his girlfriends frustration, the reality tv star quickly tried to retract spilling the beans by asking her: "Oh can I give it away? Is it greyish?"

The Irish beauty snarled back: "I mean you've told them now..."

He quickly tried to render his mistake

Holly hastily tried to resolve the awkwardness, saying: "Still, we'll have to wait and see until the whole things all together."

Fans rushed to Twitter to give their two-cents on the apparent 'fake' encounter between the pair.

"Wow, these two are so fake. It's so obvious she cannot stand him!" wrote one viewer.

"Why are these two freaks still pretending to be together?" quipped another.

Maura was seriously not impressed her her beau, Curtis

While a third Tweeted: "I have more chemistry with the butter in my fridge. This is painful to watch".

Will the National Television Awards be the death kneel in Maura and Curtis' relationship like it was for Jack and Dani?

Before being announced as the 2018 hosts of the iconic ceremony, Dani Dyer took to social media to share that the pair had parted ways, but a number of days later, they were back together.

Ahead of the massive showbiz night, the 'lovebirds' ended up having their relationship placed under scrutiny as Lorraine scolded them for sharing their split on social media.

Fans speculated that their relationship was fake after their appearance on Lorraine

And afterwards, viewers pointed out that the pair appeared "uncomfortable" together on the couch as Jack moved to put his arm around Dani.

"They are sooooo not a couple she's so cold to him she's uncomfortable," tweeted one eagle-eyed viewer.

"Yes try and look like a couple when you know the camera’s on you," quipped another.

While another said: "Jack quickly putting his arm around Dani because they’re about to go on camera. Yeah, we caught that."
