When all but one of Claire and Andrew Wood's children have left the nest, Claire finds herself unneeded as a mother and her parents' house is a little too quiet. I noticed that. Everything changed when she and her husband welcomed two more "youngsters" into their lives. Coco and Fred, cute and energetic cockapoo puppies.
“Our dogs are so much fun. I can't imagine life without them,” says Claire, 46, an accounting manager. Woods' home has the same youthful buzz as when they moved in together in 2010, with her five children from a previous relationship.
It was a busy, happily mixed household, with people coming and going all the time. Fast forward to 2020, and with her one son, Charlie, now of age, still living at home, Claire was craving those hectic comings and goings. So she decided to channel her own parenting energies into raising her puppies. She chose a lovely black Cockapoo named Coco (surnamed Chanel, after Andrew's mother's favorite perfume).

A family near Preston, Lancashire fell in love with the cuddly Coco and decided to get another black Cockapoo puppy, Fred, for 2021. company for her. "Coco and Fred have brought so much fun and welcome chaos to our home," says Claire.
"It's like chalk and cheese, but they do it very well. Coco is very elegant, but Fred is just comedy. He's full of energy, and he's a great guy to round things up."

. It gets us out," Claire explained, before she and Andrew, a 62-year-old retired businessman, took Coco and Fred for a five-mile walk early each morning.
"Not only have we discovered new neighborhoods around where we live, it's a great way to keep both of us healthy." is also swimming. "We go to the river sometimes. Coco only puts her paws in it, but Fred loves to swim," Claire reveals.
"As soon as he sees water, he goes into it. He gets excited and makes sounds like dolphins, wagging his tail too much. Can't swim in a straight line, but it's hard to get him out, so we recently bought him a paddling pool.
Coco and Fred, affectionate and loyal family dogs, are loved by Claire, Andrew and Charlie. When I come home from work, they are always there to greet me.
"They always know that one of us is coming home, and they come home and stand by their door." I sit and wait for them to come in.
