Police have launched a murder investigation following a stabbing in east Hull.

A man, 23, died at the scene following the attack by Holderness Drain in Harleston Close, off Saltshouse Road on Sunday evening

On Monday a couple of police vehicles remain at the scene and a 200m cordon is in place. A tent is also still in place as further examinations of the scene are conducted by crime scene investigators.

The man suffered serious injuries and received medical treatment at the scene but sadly died a short time later.

The man’s family have been informed and are currently being supported by specially trained officers.

A cordon and officers remain at the scene while police conduct extensive inquiries to identify the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The police have yet to confirm whether any arrests have been made in connection with the man's death.

Emergency services descended on the scene last night with several police cars and an ambulance in attendance. An air ambulance was also seen landing on the field.

Meanwhile, a police plane was seen circling above the area.

A large crowd has gathered near the police cordon, standing by the police tape.
