Netflix tease trailer and release date of psychological thriller You season four

Netflix have announced the release date of the fourth season of American psychological thriller You.

The series, based on the novel by Caroline Kepnes of the same name, follows globe-trotting serial killer Joe Goldberg as he falls in love and develops extreme obsessions with different women.

The first season was based in New York, where Joe is a bookstore manager, before moving to Los Angeles in the second season, which is based on Kepnes' follow up novel - Hidden Bodies.

Joe - portrayed by Gossip Girl actor Penn Badgley - continues his obsessional tendencies in California as he becomes a doting father in season three, which sees him finish the series in Paris.

However, it appears that he did not stay in the city of love for long as the first trailer for the upcoming fourth season confirms that Joe had crossed the Channel to London.

He has a new alias - Professor Jonathan Moore - as the trailer introduces all the cast members, and potential victims, for the thrilling season.

The upcoming batch of new episodes are slated for release in two parts, with part one coming to our screens on February 10, 2023 and the second batch on March 10, 2023.

The You season four trailer consisted of a sinister monologue by Badgley's character as the cast gets revealed.

He started the monologue by saying: "Hello, you. I'm not the loveable book store manager in New York or the shop clerk in LA or the doting husband in the suburbs. No, not anymore.

"Allow me to introduce myself, I've gone through a bit of refinement upon crossing the pond and living in London has allowed me to bury the past, if you will.

"Gone are the days of unrequited love and longing. No, this time around I'm focusing on academia and instruction, while keeping my typical extracurricular activities strictly professional.

He concluded: "One must make time to exchange ideas with like-minded colleagues. Unfortunately, with friends in high places, there usually come others attempting to climb that social ladder.

Some may end up falling, or shall I say "pushed" to their social death. The question is by whom?"
