A newborn baby boy tragically died in hospital after paramedics were called to a West Lothian home earlier in the week.
On Monday, emergency services rushed to the property on Beechwood Road in Blackburn and the baby was taken by ambulance to hospital.
Unfortunately he was not saved and was pronounced dead.
Police are currently investigating the incident and are treating the boy's death as unexplained.
The investigation is ongoing and a report will be submitted to the public prosecutor.
A Scottish Police spokeswoman said:
"On Monday 15 August 2022, an ambulance was called to an address on Beechwood Road. The baby was taken to hospital and pronounced dead.
"The death was treated as unexplained and an investigation is ongoing. A report will be submitted to the Public Prosecutor's Accounts."
