WELLWISHERS donated 1,200 in a few hours to help single mothers who skipped meals to feed their children. Donated more than a pound.

Kelly Thomson, 43,was hospitalized twice for malnutrition at The Sun amid cost of living.

The mother of two children launched a GoFundMe page yesterday morning with a goal of just £50.

Surprisingly, the total quickly surpassed her £1,200 and continues to climb rapidly.

Donors have left inspiring messages of support.

One volunteered to replace worn out school uniforms for children.

Another promised to buy her grocery every week. Kelly of

"We have received over 100 messages since the article was published.

"I can't believe the generosity of the people. Trust in humanity has been restored."

She added: it's completely crazy. I can't believe the generosity of people.

"Thanks to your donation,I know I will be able to affordfood for at least a few weeks, so a weight has been lifted from my shoulders.

"I told my son that I might be able to get my scooter back from thecash converter.

"From my children and I, from the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone.
