Page 3 legend Melinda Messenger has signed up for next series of Celeb SAS

MELINDA Messenger has signed up for the next series of Celebrity SAS, we can reveal.

The Sun's Page 3 legend - who rose to fame in the late 1990s - will return to the spotlight to be pushed to her limit.

It was believed Melinda had quit the showbiz industry she'd been part of for two decades to work as a transpersonal psychotherapist for the past six years.

But now she's making an epic return to be part of the star-studded series fronted by Rudy Reyes, who replaced Ant Middleton last year.

The show’s current series is airing on Sundays on Channel 4, but hot on its heels are the new celebs set to join for the 2023 edition.

Melinda recently surprised fans by posting an unrecognisable photo of herself with grey hair since letting her natural colour grow out.

The 51-year-old looks worlds away from her curly blonde locks that she long sported on during her glamorous career.

A far cry for her sultry bikini shots, the mother-of-three donned a comfortable t-shirt and denim dungarees in the laid-back post.

She told fans: "4 months in and the silver is outweighing the gold!

"However I'm discovering that hot and humid conditions on grey hair give it a life of its own, and serum becomes your hair best friend."

A Channel 4 spokesman: “In the best traditions of the SAS, this mission is confidential.

"However, full details will be released when the series broadcasts next year.

"In the meantime, tune into the current series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, Sunday nights at 9pm on Channel 4.”

In the background, the star revealed a snippet of her home - including a comfortable sofa, house plants and calming white walls.

She penned to her fans about her greying hair: "Well like the trees leaves change their colour through the seasons so do we.

"Do I blend out the blonde or grow it out slowly? Any advice from my hairdresser friends welcome! #SilverHair #GreyHairTransition."

“You look beautiful!” one praised, as someone else gushed: “You will rock the silver! Definitely grow it out!"

A third encouraged: “Grow it out and embrace what’s underneath!”, as a fourth concluded: “Grow it out, it will look fab!”

Melinda first rose to fame in 1997 when she appeared as a Page 3 girl in The Sun - quickly becoming a household name.

She started out on posters for Glevum Windows — then 25 and working as a customer service manager for a marketing firm — showing off her cleavage in sexy undies.

They proved so popular in Swindon that fans kept pinching them from bus stops.

She told The Sun in 1998: “People talk about the real deciding moments of their lives. For me, it came in one phone call from The Sun.

"It was like a thunderbolt. They had seen me, Little Miss Nobody from Swindon, posing in white lingerie on a poster for double-glazing.

“The man on the telephone offered me the chance to become a Page 3 Girl. I remember saying, ‘But I’m due in at the office’, before the full enormity of what he was saying hit me."

She made her debut in The Sun the following day, billed as the “girl for the Thrillenium”.

Melinda quit modelling to have three children and re-trained as a psychotherapist.
