Pikachu tours London for the Pokémon World Championships

The Pokémon World Championship takes place in London this week from August 18th to 21st, and Pikachu and friends hit the streets to celebrate.

Pokkén Tournament DX,Pokemon Trading Card Games, and Battle of Pokemon Sword and Shield are all part of a tournament with a prize pool of over $1 million (£830,000).

Pokémon Unite and Pokémon Go will also debut as part of the tournament.

Many changes were made aroundLondon to celebrate the championship, welcoming Pokémon fans to the capital.

The Transport for London Cable Car, which runs from Greenwich to the Royal Docks, is decorated with different Pokémon types.

Each carriage matches one of 18 different Pokemon types, from Normal to Fairy.

Both Pikachu and Eevee mascots are in London today, so if you're lucky, you might be able to share a carriage with your Pokémon companion.

They have already been spotted riding the Cable Car, boating down the Thames and admiring the sights of London.

Mascot is also offering photo opportunities to anyone who approaches them on their tour of London.

The store is located in sections named after famous London landmarks such as Krabby Road, Saville Rowlet and South Blazikensington.

Exclusive shirts, coins, plush toys, and Pikachu figures based on his championship designs will be on sale here.

World Championship Exclusive items will only be available in the pop-up store and will not be available after the event ends. 

People wishing to visit the store in his ExCeL Center in London are advised to book a time slot to avoid potential waiting times.
