Police identify young Scot killed in Loch Lomond crash amid hunt for pick-up truck driver

Police investigating the death of a young man who was killed during a horror two car crash near Loch Lomond are searching for the driver of a pick-up truck.

Officers have now formally identified Louis Hall, who was driving a black Ford Fiesta which collided with a black Ford Focus with a trailer on the A82.

Emergency services were called to the scene near Stoneymollan roundabout, Balloch, at around 6.45pm on Thursday, November 24.

But the 22-year-old, from Alexandria, was tragically pronounced dead a short time later. The road was closed for several hours to allow for an accident investigation to take place.

And now officers are keen to speak with the driver of a pick-up style vehicle which may have been in the area around the time of the crash.

Sergeant Archie McGuire said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Louis.

“As part of our investigation, we have now established that a pick up style vehicle may have been in the area at the time and we are keen to speak to the driver, he or she may have witnessed the crash.

“I would like to thank the public for their assistance so far, but I would continue to appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash to call Police Scotland 101, quoting incident number 2738 of Thursday, 24 November, 2022.”

More than £6000 has been raised for Louis’ family after pals set up a fundraising page.
