Lancashire Constabulary have launched an appeal after a 59-year-old man went missing in Burnley.

Officers are on the look out for Alan Whitehead who went missing from his home in the town and was last seen at around 9am on Monday, July 15.

Mr Whitehead is described as white, five foot nine inches in height, he has short grey hair, a goatee beard and is of a stocky build.

He was last seen wearing grey tracksuit bottoms, a grey vest top, grey hoodie and green trainers.

The 59-year-old is known to frequent Burnley Town Centre.

A Lancashire Constabulary spokesperson said: "We are now concerned for his welfare and are appealing for your help.

"If you have seen him or have any information, please call us on 101 quoting log reference LC-20190717-0833.

"Thanks for your help."
