PS5 stock checker UK – PlayStation 5 consoles and controllers at Argos, Game, Currys, Amazon and Smyths

SINCE its release in November, gamers have found it near impossible to bag themselves the coveted PS5.

New stock drops at the likes of GAME, John Lewis and Amazon are snapped up before most us even have a chance to get on the websites, so it pays to be super-fast when rumours of an imminent release begin to swirl.

    Gamers, start your engines – there's a new Gran Turismo game on the way.

    We've put together a quick guide to the Gran Turismo release date, news, modes and platforms while you wait for launch day.

    The game was first announced during Sony's PS5 reveal on June 11, 2020.

    Sadly, Sony didn't announce a release date to go with it.

    Worse still, there's been no word since about when the game will be out.

    All we know is that it'll launch at some time in 2021.

  • 'NO INFO' ON WHEN VERY WILL RESTOCK

    Very has said is does not yet know when it will get new stock of the PS5.

    The retailer is one of those gamers have been watching eagerly amid rumours of new stock coming to UK stores soon.

    Asked on Twitter when new stock might come in, Very's customer services replied: “We currently do not have any information on when we will be getting more stock in for the PS5 consoles at the moment.

    “I'm sorry for any disappointment.”

  • FELLOW GAME PRODUCER HAS 'SYMPATHY' FOR PROJEKT RED OVER CYBERPUNK

    Valve CEO Gabe Newell admits he has a “lot of sympathy” for Cyperpunk 2077 developers Projekt Red amid the well-documented controversy surrounding the title.

    Sony withdrew Cyberpunk from the PlayStation store in December as the game was plagued with bugs and crashes.

    Speaking to TNVZ, Newell said he had “a lot of fun” playing the game on PC and praised the developers for their ambition.

    He said: “Well first of all, as a game developer, I have a lot of sympathy with a situation that every game developer finds themselves in regarding “trade-offs” between console and PC versions.

    “All I know is that there are a lot of very happy gamers in the PC space which are the ones that are most visible to us.”

  • GAMERS LEFT IN DIGITAL QUEUES FOR HOURS

    New stock of the PlayStation 5 console led to thousands of gamers this week waiting in virtual queues for hours.

    More than 160,000 people were trying to access Currys PC World website at one point on Wednesday, which had only a limited supply.

    The recommended retail price starts at £449 – but eBay bids are currently reaching thousands of pounds.

    Experts said a rise in bots buying consoles added to the high demand.

  • CAN I UPGRADE A PS4 GAME TO THE PS5 VERSION?

    If you have a game on PS4 and a version is available on PS5, you may be able to upgrade without having to pay the full price.

    Depending on the game, the upgrade may require a smaller additional purchase or, in some cases, no extra cost.

    The process also differs slightly depending on whether you have the disc or digital edition of the console.

    Gamers have begun to despair at their chances of ever securing a PS5 as thousands wait for retailers to restock.

    Writing on twitter, @formatt01 user said: “I gave up on the PS5, it’s just all too much.

    “Was discussing the other day the whole preorder thing.

    “Surely everyone should register interest and get put in a queue so when stock is available, you get notified.

    “Surely better than this free for all mess.”

    Amazon is set to get new stock of the PS5 by the week beginning February 1, according to reports.

    Asked when the console would be back on sale, a customer service rep reportedly told PS5 Stock UK: “We are expecting this in stock by Feb 1st week”.

    The console sold out again this week after a number of UK retailers received their first new stock since last year.

  • ARGOS RESTOCK 'COMING ON TUESDAY'

    Argos is rumoured to be expecting to receive new stock of the PS5 as early as Tuesday.

    A tweet from tracker account @PS5StockUpdate4 read: “From recent reports i see that a possible stock drop for the ps5 will be available in argos to purchase on the 26th at 3-5am.

    “The time may change as it is coming from recent stock drops seeing as argos will be collection only which could make a change of time to morning.”

    The PS5 remains out of stock on Argos – despite rumours overnight that a restock was imminent.

    A number of monitoring accounts, including @PS5STOCKUK1, reported early that a restock could happen this morning.

    A message on the Argos website reads: “Sorry, Playstation5 is currently unavailable.

    “We're working hard to make this available as soon as possible.”

    A fan-made video of a HANDHELD Xbox console has gone viral on social media.

    The fantasy machine, called the Xbox Series Z, has all the benefits of a next-gen console but can fit in your pocket. The brief clip was put together by graphic artist and TikTok user Kashama, who posted it to the app last week.

    It's filmed from the perspective of someone opening the foldable gadget up and browsing through some of its games.

    Microsoft has long been rumoured to be working on a portable console along the same lines as Nintendo's hugely popular Switch.

    The US tech titan has already bet big on mobile gaming, though it's made no mention of any plans for a handheld gaming device.

    The console is currently listed as out of stock on the company's website.

    Gamers can pre-order the shooting thriller Deathloop on the PlayStation store.

    The title is due to be released on May 21 2021 but why not get your order in early?

    Two assassins are trapped in a time loop and appear doomed to repeat the same day over and over again.

    Players have to kill their enemies before the day resets itself.

    The standard edition costs £59.99 while players will have to fork out £79.99 for the deluxe edition.

  • PS5 SHORTAGES SEE SONY TAKE HIT

    PlayStation 5 stock shortages have seen Sony take a hit on consumer website Trustpilot.

    PS5 consoles have typically sold out within minutes of going on sale, leading to months of frustration for gaming fans – especially given bots and scalpers have been buying up the stock and re-selling them at inflated prices.

    With Sony failing to communicate with customers, fans have started posting negative reviews on sites like Trustpilot.

    It's been extremely difficult for hopeful PS5 buyers in the UK to get their hands on the elusive console – so many are sharing their pain on social media.

    One distressed person tweeted: “It's actually easier to get into the US Capitol than it is to get into a website selling the PS5.”

    They attracted plenty of sympathetic replies, including this from one fed-up customer: “Yeah, I'm done trying now. I'll just forget about it for 6 months. It's ridiculous.”
