Sainsbury's shoppers rumble that 'Mr Kipling will return to his grave' as cake prices soar

Sainsbury shoppers are outraged again after the popular brand's cake packaging fell victim to recent price increases.

Shoppers have recently had to contend with various price increases atsupermarkets. Major brands such as Lurpak and Birds Eye are causing a stir as their costs rise as the cost of living rises. And now Mr Kipling's fans are willing to pay a little more after one shopper spotted a pack of eight slices of chocolate from the iconic brand priced at £3.45. Manchester Evening News.

The first shopper who spotted the price increase said he only took the photo to show his daughter why she wasn't buying it for a picnic.

Sainsbury's isn't the only supermarket selling cakes at higher prices. Morrisons sells the same packet for £3.45 while Tesco sells it for £2.85 and now £2 with a club card.
