The Mummy Diaries viewers watched in horror tonight as Sam Faiers' kids broke a £40,000 car.

The Faiers sisters pulled out all the stops for their Christmas photoshoot by hiring a 14th century Georgian manor house, professional photographer and outfits.

They also went to town by hiring an extortionately priced mini car with 100,000 Swarovski crystals on, which was accompanied by a bodyguard.

Worried Billie explained: "We've hired this amazing crystallised car. And were just standing there thinking please, please don't break."

But their fears turned into reality as the kids all tried to clamber into the car - leading to an epic meltdown.

Billie's daughter Nelly started screaming when little brother Arthur refused to let her have a turn in the car.

Furious Nelly threw her toys out of the pram and stormed off in a huff as dad Greg Shepherd tried to keep the peace.

All the kids posed for a photo and the car survived the tantrum - but there was trouble when Sam's kids Rosie and little Paul got inside.

Little Paul started shaking the small car while Rosie started pulling on the plastic windscreen.

Billie admitted: "I think we're kind of asking for trouble really. It's actually making our nerves bad."

Big Paul told Rosie to stop leaning on the windscreen but suddenly a loud crack led to gasps.

Mortified Sam explained: "Rosie has lent up into the windscreen and it's cracked. You know like when it's tumbleweed and it went really quiet. I sort of just froze. Trust it to be one of my kids as well.

"There is no way I'll be able to fork out 40k for this car."

Greg started laughing as Sam apologised to the man looking after the car and said she would "pay for the plastic".

Nelly could not hide her anger during the shoot

Sam admitted it was a "slightly more expensive" shoot than she anticipated it would be.

While Arthur and little Paul saw the funny side and started pointing at the crack shouting "broken".

The Mummy Diaries viewers took to Twitter to question why the kids were allowed anywhere near the expensive vehicle.

One viewer said: "Why would they let those kids in that car? £40k and they're screaming and fighting over it. Ridiculous!"

"OMG! She's broken the car. That's what comes from getting too big for your boots and not disciplining your kids," added another.

A third said: "Nah let kids play with ..play dough not 40 grand cars... get a grip. Switching over now it’s quite pathetic"
