A "serious" crash has closed a road in East Yorkshire.

Humberside Police are currently in attendance at a crash in Sutton Lane in Barmby Moor, leading onto The Street.

They say it is currently closed in both directions and urged motorist to avoid the area where possible.

On Friday evening, Humberside Police tweeted: "Emergency services are in attendance at a serous road traffic collision in Barmby Moor.

"Sutton Road leading onto The Street is currently closed in both directions, motorists are advised to avoid the area where possible."

Statement from fire service

A spokeswoman for Humberside Fire and Rescue Service said it was called at 6.34pm and sent a number of appliances, including one from Pocklington and one from Market Weighton.

“We have left the scene now,” she said. “We have been in attendance. Our last appliance left the scene at about 7.45pm.”
