Southport's NHS hospitals Trust has reached the tragic milestone of 150 coronavirus deaths.

There was one further death of a covid-19 patient at the Southport and Ormskirk Trust in today's update from the NHS.

This takes the number of people who have died across that Trust after testing positive for the virus to 150.

This was the only death of a patient from the virus at any of our region's hospitals.

The past three days had each seen zero covid deaths added to the region's hospital death totals.

Across NHS England hospitals, 19 more people have died after testing positive for coronavirus.

A spokesperson said: "A further 19 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 29,144.

"Patients were aged between 52 and 91 years old. All patients had known underlying health conditions.

"Their families have been informed."
