Sophie Wessex and Prince Edward's vacation destination has a special connection to Prince Philip

The Countess and Earl of Wessex reportedly spent two weeks on an island popular with the British. Mrs. Louise Windsor and James, a tourist with the Viscountess Severn, who enjoyed their vacation. The family's summer destination is known not only for its beautiful weather and scenery, but also for its special connection to the late Prince Philip.

According to The Daily Mail, the Wessexes went to Corfu, Greece for a break.

Prince Philip was born on Corfu in June 1921 at his dining table in a mansion called Mon He Repos, once owned by King George I of Greece.

The first known photograph of the future Duke of Edinburgh was taken on the island when he was only eighteen months old.

After the Greek-Turkish War of 1919 to his 1922, Philip's uncle Constantine was held responsible for the defeat of Greece and forced to abdicate.

As a result, Philip defeated Greece. With her family after her father, Prince Andrew, who had to leave was deported.

Philip and his family lived in Paris before settling in England in 1930.

Both the Countess and Earl are known to be close to Prince Philip, who died in April 2021 at the age of 99.

After his death, the Countess was her one of the first vocal members of the company.

She describes his final moments at Windsor Castle before passing out with the Queen at his side: says. kind.

"It was as if someone had taken his hand and left.

"Very, very peaceful, that's all you want in someone. Isn't it?"

She burst into tears when she spoke of the Prince and said that his death had left a "huge hole" in royal life.

She said: You do what you're supposed to do and suddenly you realize they're not there, and you start thinking, 'Oh my god'.'

Mrs. Louise said that one of her hobbies was I have been living since I started driving a horse-drawn carriage.
