St Helens head coach Justin Holbrook has confirmed he's going to rest nine, possibly 10 players for Sunday's game at London Broncos.

Saints were stung by the Broncos when they rested four players last month in going down to a shock defeat, but Holbrook will again leave a host of key players at home when the runaway leaders make the trip down to the capital this weekend.

Saints take on Halifax in the Challenge Cup semi-finals next week and Holbrook will “probably rest at least nine or 10” players, including star names Lachlan Coote, Tommy Makinson, Theo Fages, Kevin Naiqama and Jonny Lomax.

“There is a much bigger picture for us,” Holbrook was quoted as saying by the St Helens Star.

“We want to win this week, but we have to be smart about it.

“We will give a lot of guys, who have been waiting for an opportunity, a go.

"They are going to use this to say it is disrespectful but it has just fallen on the right time for us to give blokes, who are carrying bumps and bruises, a rest. I will probably rest at least nine or 10."

London are currently bottom of Super League, but could draw level once again with Hull KR and Leeds Rhinos should they win, depending on results for those sides, but Rovers will be confident of doing the business themselves against Huddersfield Giants on Friday night.
