THE Traitors viewers were left heartbroken after a contestant discovered their show crush was in a relationship with his best mate.
The new BBC show, which is hosted by Claudia Winkleman, hit our screens last month.
The Traitors has seen 22 strangers play a psychological game of deception while living in a Scottish castle together.
Last night viewers were left in tears when Matt found out that he was falling for a girl who had a boyfriend.
Matt and Alex hit it off on day one, but she is actually in a relationship with Tom.
The pair decided to let the BMX athlete Matt know the truth, which left him heartbroken.
As the remaining contestants tried to guess who was a traitor and who was faithful, Tom decided to say: "I'm going to be honest, love you all... Alex isn't a traitor. Straight up. She's my girlfriend."
He explained that they came into the castle as a couple to try and find traitors - leaving the rest of the gang lost for words.
As Alex explained their reasons why, Matt looked down at the table.
Viewers flocked to Twitter to share their heartbreak.
One wrote: "Matt thought he was falling in love with Alex all along. That’s brutal."
Another said: "Oh poor Matt! Dude is heartbroken. I feel so bad for him."
Later on Alex and Matt went for a chat.
The actress told him that she thinks he's amazing, hilarious and regardless of her relationship status, she would hang out with him.
"I want to be friends with you outside of this," she said.
He replied: "You guys almost played me, like quite well."
She said: "I really like you. I really do."
Matt explained that he didn't cry because he found out she had a boyfriend, but also because she broke his trust.
They walked away from the conversation as friends.
