Tom Schwarz shows off battered face following Tyson Fury destruction and Gypsy King posts touching tribute to damaged opponent

TOM SCHWARZ has shown the effects of taking a battering from Tyson Fury by posting a selfie of his bashed-up face.

The German heavyweight was stopped in the second round of their Las Vegas showdown last weekend.

Gypsy King Fury, 30, needed just six minutes to land the 28th win of his career, bashing the previously undefeated Schwarz to the floor with a southpaw jab before stopping him with a barrage on the ropes.

And Schwarz revealed the extent of the damage in a smiling selfie during a FaceTime call to Fury's former opponent Francesco Pianeta.

He has a cut above one eye and his nose still looks swollen and sore with two small lacerations across it.

His other eye is purple underneath the lid - but other than that he looked in great spirits.

Fury - who praised Schwarz for not being a "quitter" like Anthony Joshua in his shock defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr - also took time out to once again praise his opponent.

Former heavyweight champ Fury went into Schwarz's back room after the match to offer some kind words, and the love-in continued on Instagram.

'HE WAS HEARTBROKEN'

Fury wrote: "I want to send my respect to Tom Schwarz who came to fight, came to win.

"Got hit with a shot that hurt him but he still tried to press, still fired back.

"He believed in himself, he was not happy to just take part and was heartbroken to lose the fight and I respect that.

"Losing to the number one in the world is no shame, a young hungry lion you will come again Tom."

Fury is now in line to face drugs cheat Jarrell Miller on October 5 in preparation for his mouthwatering rematch against WBC champ Deontay Wilder.

Fury sparkled on his Vegas debut against German plodder Schwarz.

And his promoter Fran Warren said: “This time he was training for a fight rather than training to lose weight — and you could see that.

“One hundred per cent the Wilder rematch will happen. It’s highly probable that fight will happen early next year. The money isn’t a problem and all parties want it.”
