Police launched a murder investigation after a man was reportedly shot dead before two attackers fled the scene on electric bicycles.
Merseyside Policeofficers rushed to Lovelock Bank in Toxteth, Liverpool at 11:40 pm on Tuesday after receiving reports that a man had suffered a gunshot wound. .
After CPR was performed on him at the scene, he was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.
Chief Inspector Col his Rooney said:
"We understand that this is shocking to the community, but we would like to reassure you that we are stepping up patrols in the area and doing a lot of research.
“If anyone has information that would be helpful to our investigation, or saw or heard anything suspicious before or after the incident, please come forward and tell us what you know.
Inspectors also asked anyone with CCTV or smart doorbell footage to "emergencyly reach out" to anyone who could help with inquiries.
