Travel disruptions warned as 3 roads in Lanarkshire will be closed for 5 days in the next 2 months

Drivers in Monklands are going through a period of chaos as three roads are closed for five days over the next two months.

Park Street in Wynhall, Airdrie will be closed from August 22-26 as roadway resurfacing work is completed.

The closure is between A8010 Aitchison Street and Park Crescent, and both these roads and Wilson Street and Mavisbank Street are available as detours.

Also ending August 22-26 is Airdrie's Blackbog Road, A73 northbound off-slip to Cullochrigg Road.

This is for drainage and alternative routes for motorists include Milcroft Road, B802 Kondralat Road, Gain and Shankburn Road, Summerhill and Ghangibok Road.

Finally, Woodside Street in Coatbridge will be closed from 5 to 9 September to improve street lighting.

The road between Allan Street and A89 Bank Street will be closed.

The latter road and B753 Dundyvan Road, A725 Whifflet Street, School Street and Old Monkland Road will serve as a driver diversion during the closure.
