VLADIMIR Putin will annex four Russia-occupied regions of Ukraine at a Kremlin ceremony today.
The Russian leader will claim he has scored victory in the Ukrainian regions of Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia following sham referendums over recent days.
Kremlin spokesman Dimitry Peskov said: "In the Georgian Hall of the Grand Kremlin a signing ceremony will take place on the incorporation of the new territories into Russia."
This comes as the UN have warned that today's events would mark a "dangerous escalation" and jeopardise prospects for peace.
United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres told reporters: "Any decision to proceed with the annexation of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions of Ukraine would have no legal value and deserves to be condemned."

Putin has 'acted in violation of international law'
Liz Truss says the UK will never accept the regions of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia as part of Russia.
In a statement released this morning she said: “Vladimir Putin has, once again, acted in violation of international law with clear disregard for the lives of the Ukrainian people he claims to represent.
“The UK will never ignore the sovereign will of those people and we will never accept the regions of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia as anything other than Ukrainian territory.
“Putin cannot be allowed to alter international borders using brute force. We will ensure he loses this illegal war.”
Russia suffer heavy losses again
Ukraine's Ministry of Defence have claimed that Russia lost a further 500 troops within the past 24 hours.
Ukraine also claim to have shot down two military jets taking the total to 264.

The UK's Ministry of Defence have released their latest update claiming that Russian medical provision is "growing worse".
The MoD said: "Medical provision for Russian combat troops in Ukraine is probably growing worse. Some newly mobilised Russian reservists have been ordered to source their own combat first aid supplies, with the advice that female sanitary products are a cost-effective solution.
"Medical training and first-aid awareness is likely poor.
"Some Russia troops have obtained their own modern, Western-style combat torniquets but have stowed them on their equipment using cable-ties, rather than with the Velcro provided - probably because such equipment is scarce and liable to be pilfered."
Russia launch missile attack
Russian forces have been accused by Ukrainian officials of targeting a humanitarian convoy, killing at least 23 people.
Regional governor Oleksandr Starukh said the Kremlin forces launched a strike on the city of Zaporizhzhia.

US President, Joe Biden, said the US will "never" recognise the results of the referendums.
Mr Biden said: "The United States, I want to be very clear about this, will never, never, never recognise Russia's claims on Ukraine sovereign territory."
Germany 'all-in'
Germany is "all-in" against Russian tyrant Vladimir Putin in the so-called energy war.
Christian Lindner told the German parliament: "The first signal is to Putin that we are not going to be deterred but that we have an all-in strategy to protect our country.
"The other message is that behind the protective screen we are putting up around us the debt brake will continue to work: a clear message to the world's providers of capital that Germany remains solid."
Mark Hamill announced as Ambassador in support of Ukraine army of drones
Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker in Star Wars has been announced as the ambassador for the UNITED24 platform which includes providing drones to the Ukrainian army.
Marks said he was "honoured" to take on the role and wants to "help President Zelensky and the people of Ukraine in any way possible".
Over 200,000 Russians have fled
Reports claim over 200,000 Russians have fled the country in just a week, following Putin’s announcement of partial mobilisation.
According to CNN, 100,000 Russians have crossed into Kazakhstan, while another 54,000 and 66,000 have fled into Georgia and the EU respectively.
UK’s Ministry of Defence release latest intelligence update
The UK’s Ministry of Defence have released their latest intelligence update yesterday morning claiming that “there has been a considerable exodus of Russians seeking to evade call-up”.
The Ministry said: “In the seven days since President Putin announced the ‘partial mobilisation’ there has been a considerable exodus of Russians seeking to evade call-up. Whilst exact numbers are unclear, it likely exceeds the size of the total invasion force Russia fielded in February 2022.
“The better off and well educated are over-represented amongst those attempting to leave Russia.
“When combined with those reservists who are being mobilised, the domestic economic impact of reduced availability of labour and the acceleration of ‘brain drain’ is likely to become increasingly significant.”
Nord Stream leak a ‘deliberate, reckless…act of sabotage’
NATO has declared that the Nord Stream gas leaks that occurred this week were done as an “act of sabotage.”
“All currently available information indicates that this is the result of deliberate, reckless, and irresponsible acts of sabotage,” NATO said yesterday.
Thursday saw another pipeline destroyed, as Europe looks to Russia for answers.
Annexation nothing more than a ‘land grab’ US officials say
The United States Secretary of State has slammed the annexations taking place in Ukraine as nothing more than “land grabs”.
“The Kremlin’s sham referenda are a futile effort to mask what amounts to a further attempt at a land grab in Ukraine,” Anthony Blinken said yesterday.
“To be clear: the results were orchestrated in Moscow and do not reflect the will of the people of Ukraine.”
Zelensky vows Ukraine will retake land
In an address shortly after results from the sham votes were released, Zelensky said: “We will act to protect our people: both in the Kherson region, in the Zaporizhia region, in the Donbass, in the currently occupied areas of the Kharkiv region, and in the Crimea.
“This farce in the occupied territory cannot even be called an imitation of referendums.
“And as for the front, I will say it briefly and for now without details, although they will be good: we are moving forward and liberating our land”
Putin calls for new ‘world order’ in chilling speech
Russia’s dictator has called for a “more just world order” while meeting with the Commonwealth of Independent States, a group of former Soviet nations.
“We are witnessing a difficult process of forming a more just world order,” he said.
“We also know that the West is working out scenarios for inciting new conflicts in the CIS space. But we already have enough of them. It is enough to look at what is happening now between Russia and Ukraine, what is happening on the borders of some other CIS countries.”

The UN has called Russia’s annexation of four Ukrainian regions a “dangerous escalation.”
“Any decision to proceed with the annexation of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions of Ukraine would have no legal value and deserves to be condemned,” Antonio Guterres, the UN General-secretary, told reporters.
“It must not be accepted,” he went on to say.
Russia has mobilised ‘100,000’ troops since last week, Ukrainian official claims
According to Oleksiy Hromov, a deputy chief of the General Staff’s main operations department, Putin has already raised 100,000 troops since his declaration last week.
“We understand that the announced figure of 300,000 is not final. The number of mobilized conscripts will most likely be far larger,” Hromov added.
Today, Putin will declare the annexation of FOUR Ukrainian regions.
Russian officials claim Ukrainians ‘do not want to go back to their old lives’
Russian officials have spoken following the results of sham referendums that took place in Ukraine this week.
In a statement given by the Russian Foreign Ministry, they said an “overwhelming majority” of Ukrainians voted to join Russia.
“The results of the plebiscites speak for themselves: the people of the Donbas, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions do not want to go back to their old lives and have made a conscious and free choice in favour of Russia,” the ministry said in a statement.
It is important to note that these results have been universally dismissed by the democratic west.
Putin’s popularity plummets as he forces partial mobilisation
According to the Levada Centre, Putin’s popularity among Russians has fallen drastically in the last week.

President Zelensky has called an emergency meeting of his security staff, as Russia prepares to annex four Ukrainian regions.
Sergii Nykyforov, a spokesperson for the steadfast President, said: “President Volodymyr Zelensky convenes an urgent meeting of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine tomorrow.
“Agenda and other details will be announced later.”
